Storage Recommendations for Aviation Products

SEKISUI SPI recommends a method similar to standard export packaging practice would be best. This procedure will help protect the sheets during handling, keep the sheets clean, and will minimize moisture absorption. KYDEX®

**Original sheet orders incorporate all the items listed below on each pallet or staple box. If these items are no longer available, a comparable substitute may be used.

  1. Place a piece of dunage (scrap sheet) directly on the pallet.
  2. Center a sheet of moisture wrap on the dunage sheet (SEKISUI SPI uses a paper-based moisture resistant wrap that is coated with a waxy film on one side, which always faces the outside of the package). Allow for enough excess paper on all sides to reach the top of the sheets when you are finished stacking the material. If one sheet of moisture resistant wrap is not wide enough, you may need to tape two sheets together.
  3. Stack the sheet on top of the moisture wrap.
  4. Place a sheet of moisture wrap on top of the stack of material with the waxy side up. Fold the excess wrapping material from the bottom over the moisture wrap on top (taking care not to tear holes in the wrap), and seal all seams with clear packing tape.
  5. Place a piece of dunage on top of the wrapped package. Secure the package together by placing bands as appropriate around the plastic to keep the sheets from shifting during handling. Then shrink wrap the package (similar to wrapping a clear plastic wrap around the edges of the sheets).
  6. Now place a cardboard lid, or other form of protective covering on top of the package, and band the stack to the pallet as is appropriate.
  7. Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight and not above 120ºF (49ºC).
