SMP800C compliant injection molding compound

Introduction

KYDEX® 2200IM is an injection molding compound for use in mass transit interior applications where SMP800C or BSS7239 compliance is required.

General Information

KYDEX® 2200IM meets the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Federal Rail Administration (FRA) requirements for smoke emission and flammability as tested under ASTM E-662 and ASTM E-162. Additionally, KYDEX® 2200LT meets the toxicity criteria defined by SMP800C and BSS7239.

Suggested Applications

  • Trim pieces to cover seams or exposed edges when mating or joining parts
  • Endcaps and snap fit covers

Features

  • Meets flame-spread and smoke development requirements listed in 49 CFR 238
  • Compliant to SMP800C and BSS7239 toxicity specifications
  • Allows for tight tolerance control
  • Sustainable: recycling eliminates disposal in landfill and associated costs

Processing Characteristics

  • Drying Temperature: 88°C (190°F)
  • Drying Time: 3 – 4 Hours
  • Process Temperature: 282°C (540°F)
