In this role, the Inspector Packer inspects finished materials and packs materials for shipment to the customer. This person follows standard work processes and practices safe work habits to ensure efficiency and safety, exercising safety and proper PPE use. Takes direction from the Production Manager as well as the Lead Extruder Operator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Visually inspects finished product for conformity to accepted quality standards and the production schedule
- Packages materials according to production schedule
- Samples and tests finished product for conformity to ISO Standards
- Labels the finished product
- Ensures all activities conform to the requirements of ISO 9001 and 14001
- Assists the Extruder Operator in such activities as tooling changes and/or transitions
- Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition according to 5S guidelines and maintains housekeeping
- Participates with others in team improvement projects and activities
- Works overtime as required
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and micrometer
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to operate lift trucks

- Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
