In this role, the Inspector Packer inspects finished materials and packs materials for shipment to the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
- Visually inspects finished product for conformity to production schedule and accepted quality standards
- Packages materials according to production schedule
- Samples and tests finished product for conformity to ISO Standards
- Labels finished product
- Ensures all activities conform to the requirements of ISO 9002 and 14001
- Assists the Extruder Operator in such activities as tooling changes and/or transitions
- Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition according to 5S guidelines
- Participates with others in team improvement projects and activities
- Works overtime as required
- Communicates with other personnel through use of walkie-talkie radio
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch

Physical requirements: Heavy — exerting up to 100 lbs./45 kgs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs./22 kgs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs./9 kgs of force constantly to move objects.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and depth perception
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
